The Thunderhearts Story
A Dream Takes Root
Thunderhearts began with a simple belief: every animal deserves a chance at a peaceful life, and every person deserves access to the healing power of connection with nature and animals.
What started as a vision to rescue a few horses has grown into a developing haven that serves our entire community. Today, we’re home to horses rescued from racing tracks, companion animals in need, and a growing family of supporters who believe in our mission.
Second Chances, New Beginnings
Many of our horses come from racing backgrounds or hard-use situations. They arrive exhausted, wary, and sometimes injured. Here, they find something they may never have known before: patience, gentleness, and time.
As they heal, something remarkable happens. These once-struggling animals become teachers, healers, and friends to the humans who visit them. The connection between a rescued horse and a person seeking peace is profound—and it runs both ways.
